What is HEVC?
HEVC stands for high-efficiency video coding. Also known as H.265, this new video codec will compress video files to half the size possible using the most-efficient current encoding format, MPEG-4, aka H.264 (used on Blu-ray discs and some satellite TV broadcasts). That will be one-quarter the size of files compressed using the MPEG 2 codec that most cable-TV companies still employ. More importantly, HEVC is used to compress video with 4K resolution — and possibly even 8K resolution in the future — so it can be efficiently delivered.
What is the difference between 720p HEVC and 720p normal movies?
For common people the difference is this:
HEVC or H.265 (written x265 where you read) codec videos are smaller in size than H.264 (x264) videos. Suffice it to say that it is a technology upgrade that allows better compression. The audio and video quality are almost the same and you get the same video file for about 300MB which if compressed by x264 would have amounted to 1.3GB approx.
720p is the resolution of the video. It fits a screen of 1280×720 pixels and is generally accepted to be HD (High Definition) although resolution and video quality can be independent.
HEVC Player Software
VLC is a free and open-source media player developed by VideoLAN. It has been famous especially among Americans for many years. It can play many codecs without the need of codec packs. But for playing an HEVC format video, it requires to download a specific x265 as a free software library and application for encoding video streams into the H.265/MPEG-H HEVC compression format. But if you click the “Download x265” button on that page, a landing page of “400 Couldn’t parse URL” would appear and you will fail in downloading the H.265 encoder for VLC.
Media Player Lite is multifunctional media player that supports over 300 audio and video formats (FLV, MKV, VOB, MPG, WM, FLAC) and allows to play media files really comfortable. Potplayer also serves as a free HEVC player for HEVC/H.265 encoded videos playing as well as any other multimedia formats or codecs like H.264, MP4, FLV, MKV, AVI, MOV etc. Besides, other than the powerful ability of playing HEVC codec videos, you can also download 3D and blu-ray movies/videos for playing on this marvelous video player, which makes it unique among the best HEVC players. But sadly it’s only available on Windows.
5KPlayer is a sophisticated free HEVC player as well as a 4K video player, to some extent, which delivers high quality playback of 4K/5K/8K, H.265, MP4, MKV, AVI and even DVD, 360 degree video playback on Mac or Windows. HEVC Players For Android
There are many video player for Android smartphone and tablet, such as:
BS Player is a free multimedia video player which is being used by over 70 million people worldwide. The developer team has translated the app in 90 global languages and makes sure that the app runs without any lag on devices with less processing power.
VLC has quickly made a name for itself as one of the must-have video player apps. It has a a slew of unique features, including the ability to stream videos if you have the URL. It can also play some obscure video formats, like DVD ISOs. Unlike most, it also has all of its codecs built-in without the need for additional plugin downloads. Other features include subtitle support, full media support (including audio), multi-track audio, and more.
3. MX Player
MX Player has long been the king of video player apps. It supported more formats long before other video player apps and was also among the first to include things like hardware decoding, hardware accelerated playback, and other such features. It still has all of those things along with gesture controls (including pinch-to-zoom), subtitle support, a kids lock to keep your kids in the app watching their Disney movies, and it supports virtually every codec out there.
People reviewed it as one of their favorite multimedia apps because of its support for almost all formats and great codec support. The app has a lot of useful features available for free. But the ads in the free version are quite annoying.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN Bluray , CAM, Webrip, BRRip, BDRip, DvdRip, HDTV, Web-DL ?
If you are a movie maniac and love watching movies at home by downloading them you would read terms like Bluray , CAM, Webrip, BRRip, BDRip, DvdRip, HDTV, Web-DL etc in their daily lives, you should be knowing that all these are different types of pirated movie release formats.
BRRip – Its a DVD format for the storage of HD and UHD video and data, designed to supersede the DVD format, called BD (BlueRay disk)
BDRip – term used for same format encoded directly from the BluRay disk, not equivalent to BD but better than DVD in 720p/1080p formats
CAMRip – Its a movie recorded in theater; also called theater rip usually done with a digital video camera
DVDRip – Copy of movie ripped from DVD having similar or lesser resolution HDRip – ripped from HD movie HDTV – movie recorded from content aired on HD television WebRip – Content ripped from a non-DRM streaming service, such as Hulu, Crunchyroll or WWE Network. Similar quality as WEB-DL
WEB–DL – This is a movie or TV show downloaded via an on-line distribution website (web download), such as iTunes. The quality is quite good since they are not re-encoded. An advantage with these releases is that they mostly have no network logos on screen, just like BD/DVDRips.
Asian Silvers / PDVD – Silvers are very cheap and easily available in a lot of countries, and its easy to put out a release. PDVDs are the same thing pressed onto a DVD.
